Buddhist Monks

Your mind and body are gifts to you. Just like the rest of your body, your mind needs to be nurtured too. If you are a fitness fanatic, you can achieve a healthy body only when your brain is healthy. A healthy brain is one with peace and serenity. If you have peace within you, you perform better than others in your day-to-day tasks. You are calm and mature in your relationships. However, peace doesn’t come within an enclosed capsule. So, how does one attain eternal internal peace? There are a lot of things can that can help different people.

Here are seven  proven tips that actually help us attain eternal peace:

  • Acceptance:

Sometimes, life does get a little harsh. The burden that we have on our shoulders make our feet shiver. These are situations where we almost give up. Most of the people in phases like these remain in a denial. They don’t try to accept the facts and find solutions for them. But here is the deal; it doesn’t make it any better. Get your head up, accept what it is, think about its possible solutions and work on them.

  • Meditation:

Take out 15 to 20 minutes at the end of each day and just breathe. Forget about your duties for tomorrow or what went wrong today. Just focus on bringing peace to your mind. Just breathe in and breathe out. Let your mind relax and ‘have its space’. Let it all flow!

  • Count Positives First:

It happens that you face issues at your workspace. There are cons everywhere, negative qualities in people you know and problems in your daily affairs. But here is the thing; where there is negative, there is usually a positive. Now it is up to what you want to count first. Whenever you even casually sit down to list pros and cons of something, always note down pros first. Not that you have to overlook cons, but always try to focus on the positives.

  • Don’t Judge:

It sounds like a cliché but it works. Whenever your mind takes into the direction of judging people about their shortcoming, divert it back to yourself. Try to make things better about yourself. Most of the times, the problems that we identify in others are often found lying in us too. Hence, instead of judging them for what they are, try focusing on what you are.

  • Don’t Try To Be Perfect:

Trying to attain perfection doesn’t bring you anything but tension and stress. By saying that, it doesn’t mean that you abate the quality of your work. Always try to do your best, but do not be upset if you do not attain ‘perfection’. It is nothing but an illusion that keeps you chasing it all your life.

  • Let Go Of Past:

There are many reasons why your past keeps haunting you but all of them are pointless. No matter how much you want to relive something or change something, here is the fact; there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Let it go.

  • Stop Trying To Control Everything:

You want things to be done to the best of your ability. But you can't control 100% of your life. Nature runs its course too. So, let it be. Let things work the way they are supposed to. Let your mind relax!
